Dolce & Gabbana’s 2003 Spring/Summer collection, overseen by creative directors Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, showcased bold Sicilian influences, vibrant colours, intricate detail, and sheer fabrics used to create unique silhouettes. The show took place in Milan, Italy, where the present D&G collections are still shown to this day and the location alone still has a huge influence on the themes and aesthetic of Dolce&Gabbana.
This pair of denim was created during the same time period featuring a silk-like material used to mummify the jeans and lambskin sewn to the waistline seam and outseam. They have a detached back pocket which connects with more lambskin and nylon, and white hand painted details adding to the craftsmanship. On this particular pair, the hemline has been cut creating a distressed effect.
