Jun Takahashi at Undercover, captivated by the blend of fashion and contemporary art, teamed up with sculptor Ann-Valerie for the AW04 ‘But Beautiful’ collection. The collection produced playful, exaggerated clothing with stuffed animal-like aesthetics, mismatched buttons, and visible coloured yarn. The show combined Takahashi’s punk style and the playfulness of a children’s art book, creating history.
This particular pair of denim features many exaggerated distressed parts resembling claw marks as well as red, green, black, pink, and blue boro stitching. They also feature the symbolic lightning bold featured in all Undercover denim from the 2000s.
